When looking for a life partner, the one thing that matters most is trust. Not being sure whether the profile you're talking to is genuine can create a lot of doubt. That's exactly why we've introduced a new feature on MarathiVivah — Government ID (Aadhar) verification.

What is this feature?

Government ID Verification lets you upload your Aadhar card (or another valid government ID) on MarathiVivah. Our team reviews it manually — just like we review your photos and biodata. Once approved, a "Government ID Verified" badge appears on your profile, showing other members that your identity has been confirmed.

It's optional for now

Verification is not mandatory today — it's entirely your choice. However, to keep raising the level of trust on the platform, we may make this process mandatory in the future. Getting verified now is a smart way to stay ahead of that.

How to get verified

Go to your Dashboard — you'll see a "Government ID Verification" card there. Click "Get Verified," or go directly to the profile verification page. Upload a clear photo or PDF of your Aadhar card (JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 10MB). Our team reviews it within 24–48 hours and approves or rejects it. If approved, you'll be notified by email and the Verified badge will appear on your profile.

How secure is your data?

The privacy of your ID document matters most to us. Only our authorized team can view it — it's never shown to any other member. The link used for review is private and time-limited, expiring within minutes. Once a decision is made — approved or rejected — your document is permanently deleted from our systems within 15 days. You cannot delete the document yourself once uploaded; to prevent misuse, it's only ever removed through this automatic process.

What do you get by verifying?

A green "Government ID Verified" badge appears on your profile — visible on your profile card, your profile page, and your public profile page. Other members take your profile more seriously, since they can be confident you're a genuine person. Verified profiles' photos are also automatically shown only to other verified members, so your photos reach only serious, genuine members.

This setting is available only for verified profiles

The "Show my photos only to Government ID verified profiles" setting is available only to members who have verified their own ID. Once your verification is approved, this setting turns on automatically for you — there's nothing extra to do. Members who haven't verified cannot enable this setting; their photos remain visible to everyone as usual.
