This Privacy Policy explains how MarathiVivah ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our website and mobile application (collectively, the “Service”), in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian law.

- Family details — parents' names, siblings, family occupation/background
- Horoscope / astrological details — rashi, nakshatra, gan, nadi, mangal status (optional)
- Profile photos and partner preferences
Usage & technical information:
- Messages and interest requests exchanged within the platform
- Profile views and activity within the Service
- IP address, device and browser information
- Cookies and similar tracking identifiers (see Section 5)

3. Profile Visibility & Control
Some profile pages on MarathiVivah are publicly viewable — including by search engines and visitors who are not registered — so that families can discover profiles before signing up. Public pages show only general details (such as age, caste, education, occupation and general location) and a blurred preview photo. Your full photos, phone number, and email address are never shown publicly, and are only revealed to another member once you have both expressed and accepted mutual interest. You can edit, hide, or delete your profile at any time.

Messages between users are private. Automated systems may be used to detect spam, abuse, or inappropriate content to maintain platform safety.

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and to understand usage patterns. We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity to measure site usage and improve the Service; these providers may set their own cookies subject to their respective privacy policies. You can control cookies via your browser settings, and control browser notification permissions via your device settings.

We do not sell your personal data. Information may be shared only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service (SMS/OTP delivery, email, cloud hosting, analytics as listed in Section 5), or with legal authorities if required by law. Some of our service providers may process or store data outside India; where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure an equivalent standard of protection.

7. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures such as HTTPS encryption, OTP-based account verification, masked contact details until mutual interest is accepted, access control, and monitoring. However, no system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach likely to affect you, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required under the DPDP Act.

8. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Account deletion requests (profile information, uploaded photos, and biodata) are processed within 7 days — see our Account Deletion page. Some records (such as in-app notifications) are automatically removed on a shorter, fixed schedule. We may retain limited data beyond deletion where required for fraud prevention or legal compliance.

9. Age Eligibility
Our Service is intended only for individuals legally eligible for marriage under Indian law, and is not directed at or knowingly used to collect data from minors:
- Female users must be at least 18 years old
- Male users must be at least 21 years old
Accounts found violating this rule will be suspended or removed.
९. वय पात्रता

10. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act
As a data principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data
- Withdraw consent for processing at any time
- Request erasure of your data (see Section 8)
- Register a grievance regarding how your data is handled
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@marathivivah.co.in. Our Grievance Officer can be reached at support@marathivivah.co.in — complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days, as required under the IT Rules, 2021.

11. Matchmaking Disclaimer (No Guarantee of Marriage)
MarathiVivah is a matchmaking platform only and does not guarantee marriage, engagement, or successful matchmaking.
- Match suggestions are indicative and automated
- Final decisions rest solely with users
- No background, legal, or personal verification is guaranteed
Users are advised to conduct independent verification and exercise discretion.
११. वधू-वर जुळवणी अस्वीकरण (विवाहाची हमी नाही)
MarathiVivah हे केवळ वधू-वर जुळवणी प्लॅटफॉर्म आहे आणि विवाह, साखरपुडा किंवा यशस्वी जुळवणीची हमी देत नाही.

12. Limitation of Liability
MarathiVivah shall not be responsible for disputes, failed matches, financial loss, emotional distress, fraud, or any offline interactions between users.

विवाद, अयशस्वी जुळणी, आर्थिक नुकसान, मानसिक त्रास, फसवणूक किंवा वापरकर्त्यांमधील कोणत्याही प्रत्यक्ष (ऑफलाइन) परस्परसंवादासाठी MarathiVivah जबाबदार राहणार नाही.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service or applicable law. The "Last updated" date above will change whenever we make a material update, and significant changes will be notified via the website or app. Continued use of the Service indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Free Marathi Biodata Maker (Website & ChatGPT App)
Our Free Marathi Biodata Maker (available at marathivivah.co.in/free-marathi-biodata-maker and via our official ChatGPT app) lets anyone create a marriage biodata PDF without creating an account.
- We collect your name, phone number, and any other details you optionally provide (education, profession, family details, horoscope, etc.) solely to generate your biodata PDF.
- Your phone number may also be used by our team to contact you about MarathiVivah's free matrimony registration and services. You can opt out of such contact at any time by emailing support@marathivivah.co.in.
- When used via ChatGPT, the information you type in the conversation is sent directly to this same public API to generate the identical PDF — we do not receive any additional information about you from OpenAI/ChatGPT beyond what you type.
- This data is stored the same as other lead data, and deletion requests are honored the same way described in Section 8.
